What is a Ceramic Ball Bearing?
Ceramic ball bearings represent a typical industrial product made from engineering ceramics. Manufactured from ceramic materials, they are used in mechanical components operating at high speed, high temperature, in corrosive or radioactive environments, and other harsh conditions. With heat resistance and strength that metallic bearings cannot match, they have been adopted across a growing range of applications over the past decade. HKW launched exploratory research into ceramic ball bearings in the second half of the 20th century. After years of development, we have acquired core capabilities covering ceramic ball and component preparation, machining, inspection and batch consistency, led revisions of several standards, and received multiple awards. We supply a full range of ceramic ball bearings from Ø0.8 mm to Ø315 mm, and comply with DIN Class 2 accuracy requirements.
