According to Danish television reports, Siemens Gamesa has officially announced the permanent closure of its turbine nacelle production line in Brande, Denmark.

In an email to the television station, Siemens Gamesa stated that the production line in Brande had been temporarily shut down for over a year, and after evaluating various options, the company ultimately decided to permanently close it.

Siemens Energy, the parent company of Siemens Gamesa, is continuing to push forward with its restructuring efforts to improve profitability, with the goal of breaking even in fiscal year 2026.

Last November, Vinod Philip, CEO of Siemens Gamesa, revealed that the company plans to close some of its factories, reduce its global onshore manufacturing footprint from 10 to 4 sites, and streamline its wind turbine platforms from 11 to 4, while focusing on 12 core markets to maximize value.

The Brande factory was once a key link in Siemens Gamesa’s global supply chain; the components it produced were supplied not only to the European market but also exported to other regions.

In addition to the Brande production line, Siemens Gamesa has also suspended plans to build a new nacelle factory in Esbjerg, Denmark.
